Job Summary

The SailPoint Operations role is responsible for the day‑to‑day operational support, monitoring, and governance of SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ) and SailPoint Identity Security Cloud (ISC) platforms. The role ensures stability, compliance, and efficiency of Identity Governance processes including access provisioning, certifications, and integrations.

In addition to core SailPoint operations, this role will leverage AI‑assisted and analytics‑driven capabilities to improve operational efficiency, troubleshooting accuracy, and reporting quality—while maintaining strong governance and audit alignment.

Key Responsibilities

SailPoint Operations – Core (Primary Responsibility)

  • Provide Tier‑2 / Tier‑3 operational support for SailPoint IdentityIQ and Identity Security Cloud (ISC).

  • Monitor and troubleshoot SailPoint batch jobs, aggregations, workflows, provisioning tasks, and certification campaigns.

  • Perform root‑cause analysis for job failures, provisioning errors, identity correlation issues, and connector failures.

  • Support User Access Reviews (UARs), certifications, remediation tracking, and campaign closure within SLAs.

  • Manage SailPoint integrations and connectors (e.g., ServiceNow, LDAP, JDBC, HR sources, file‑based feeds).

  • Validate entitlement catalogs, roles, and access metadata with application owners.

  • Support incident, problem, and change management processes.

  • Maintain audit evidence, logs, and compliance artifacts (SOX, internal audits).

  • Create and update operational SOPs, runbooks, and FAQs.

  • Coordinate with Tier‑1 monitoring teams and escalate issues as required.

AI‑Assisted Operations & Automation (Secondary Responsibility)

  • Leverage AI or analytics‑based tools to assist with:

    • Faster triage of SailPoint job failures and provisioning errors

    • Summarization of logs, task results, and certification outcomes

    • Identification of recurring operational issues and risk patterns

  • Support development or adoption of AI‑assisted operational workflows (e.g., knowledge search over runbooks, failure pattern analysis).

  • Contribute to automation of repetitive operational tasks to reduce manual effort and error rates.

  • Use data insights to improve access governance, review effectiveness, and operational metrics.

Stakeholder & Team Collaboration

  • Partner with IAM Ops, Access Ops, Platform Ops, application teams, and Cybersecurity stakeholders.

  • Communicate operational risks, issues, and remediation status clearly to leadership.

  • Mentor junior team members and promote operational best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 8–12+ years of experience in Identity & Access Management, with strong focus on SailPoint operations.

  • Hands‑on experience with SailPoint IdentityIQ (mandatory); exposure to Identity Security Cloud preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • Access provisioning & de‑provisioning

    • Identity lifecycle management

    • Role‑Based Access Control (RBAC)

    • Access certifications & recertifications

  • Proven experience troubleshooting SailPoint workflows, connectors, aggregations, and task failures.

  • Working knowledge of SQL, logs, audit events, and IAM troubleshooting techniques.

  • Experience working in a global operations / follow‑the‑sun model.

  • Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred / Good‑to‑Have Skills (Including AI)

  • Exposure to AI‑assisted operations, analytics, or intelligent automation in IAM or cybersecurity domains.

  • Experience using LLM‑based tools or AI copilots for operational analysis, documentation, or troubleshooting support.

  • Familiarity with pattern analysis, anomaly detection, or operational metrics dashboards.

  • SailPoint certifications (IIQ / ISC).

  • Experience with ServiceNow–SailPoint integrations.

  • Scripting or automation exposure (Beanshell, Java, PowerShell, Python) for operational use cases.

  • Understanding of audit, compliance, and controls in large enterprise environments.

  • Continuous improvement mindset with interest in leveraging AI to enhance operational maturity.

  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Identity and Access Manager (CIAM).

  • Prior involvement in IAM projects such as migrations, upgrades, or integrations.

  • ITIL foundation certification.

Behavioral & Leadership Expectations

  • Strong ownership and accountability for production systems.

  • Ability to balance operational stability with innovation.

  • Collaborative mindset across global teams and time zones.

  • Focus on efficiency, risk reduction, and governance.

1. Familiarity with applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Machine Learning (ML) techniques in cybersecurity contexts (e.g., anomaly detection, threat hunting, behavioral analytics, or risk scoring).

2. Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools (such as Copilot for Security, Darktrace, CrowdStrike Charlotte AI, or custom LLM integrations) to enhance detection, response, and automation workflows.

3. Understanding of LLM safety, prompt engineering, or AI governance frameworks (e.g., NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act readiness) is a plus.

4. Exposure to data science fundamentals relevant to security (pattern recognition, supervised vs. unsupervised learning, model validation).

5. Awareness of AI-driven risks (e.g., adversarial ML, data poisoning, model hallucination) and their mitigation within enterprise environments.

6. Interest in leveraging GenAI for security operations, such as summarizing alerts, drafting reports, or automating incident triage
