About the Role
The Principal Advanced Analytics, Audience & Segmentation position focuses on leveraging advanced analytics to deeply understand AT&T’s customers and prospects, enabling marketers to deliver more relevant and effective campaigns. The ideal candidate is highly technical and brings a strategic mindset, always asking not just “why” behind the data and analysis, but also “so what” by considering the implications and actionable next steps that stem from their findings. This approach ensures continuous improvement in both analytical and technical methods and elevates the overall impact delivered to the business. Strong communication skills are essential, as this role helps marketers better understand and act on customer and prospect insights.
This individual will independently lead strategic initiatives related to audience segmentation and customer insights, developing, maintaining, refining, and deploying a suite of statistical analyses tailored for marketing use cases. Insights from analytics will directly inform strategies and tactics to increase sales, lower churn, develop the brand, and optimize AT&T’s marketing efforts across advertising messages, media, and offers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Audience & Segmentation Analytics: Develop and refine customer audience segments using advanced analytics to provide deeper insight into customer and prospect behaviors, attitudes, and needs. Translate these insights into actionable recommendations for marketers.
• Data Analysis and Interpretation: Gather, analyze, and interpret diverse data sets to solve a variety of business problems, predict behaviors, and identify causal relationships, trigger points, and predictions. Well-versed with Relational (Ex- Oracle or MySQL) and/or Data Warehouse data storage (Ex- Snowflake or Databricks Delta Lake). Data sources including but not limited to internal and external sources, datalakes, data warehouses such as eCDW, BIDW, etc.• Statistical Methods and Decision Support: Apply a range of advanced statistical methods to quantify data variances and uses traditional modeling techniques to support decision-making. Most common tools are Tableau, PowerBI (AI Insights), Databricks, AWS Azure, Synapse, H2O Driverless AI, etc.• Business Case Development and Analytics Tools: Develop business cases and create complex models utilizing big data analytics tools (Ex- Tableau, Power BI AI Insights, Databricks) for modeling and process integration, and to make recommendations for improvements to processes, financials, business models, etc. Build and test predictive models on various data samples and verifies their accuracy in real-world scenarios (Ex- Linear/Logistic Regression, Time Series).• Reporting and Business Insights: Develop visualizations such as dashboards, reports and charts, and advise business partners on data patterns and relationships to recommend strategic directions. Advise business partners with regard to patterns and relationships in data to recommend business direction or outcomes.

Our Principal Advanced Analytics earns between $143,800 - $215,800 USD Annual. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
