Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Red Team Leader to build and lead a high-performing team of 10+ experienced cybersecurity professionals in India.

This role combines strategic leadership and hands-on expertise, driving advanced Red Team operations to uncover vulnerabilities across enterprise environments and strengthen AT&T’s security posture.

You will partner closely with global cybersecurity leadership (India & US), influencing security strategy and enabling proactive risk mitigation at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing Red Team

  • Drive Red Team strategy, roadmap, and execution

  • Collaborate with global CSO leadership and cross-functional stakeholders

Offensive Security & Red Team Operations

  • Design and execute advanced Red Team engagements

  • Conduct targeted threat hunts and penetration testing

  • Simulate real-world attack scenarios across:

    • Cloud, APIs, web apps, networks, systems

    • Mobile, SDN, IoT, big data environments

Innovation & Threat Discovery

  • Develop custom tools, techniques, and methodologies

  • Identify vulnerabilities beyond traditional assessments

  • Analyze attack vectors and emerging threat patterns

Insights & Impact

  • Translate findings into actionable remediation strategies

  • Present insights to technical and senior leadership audiences

  • Partner with security, engineering, and operations teams to drive fixes

Continuous Evolution

  • Stay ahead of latest vulnerabilities, exploits, and attack techniques

  • Contribute to future-ready security strategies and capabilities

Experience & Skills

Mandatory

  • 15+ years in Red Team / Penetration Testing

  • 10+ years leading technical teams

  • Deep expertise in:

    • Network security, TCP/IP, exploit techniques

    • Vulnerability assessment & attack simulation

    • Tools: Nessus, Nmap, Burp, Wireshark, etc.

  • Strong OS knowledge: Windows, Linux, UNIX

  • Programming: Python, Bash, PowerShell, C/C++, Java (.NET & others)

  • Excellent stakeholder communication & leadership presence

Core Competencies

  • Strategic thinking with hands-on execution

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to lead under tight timelines and complex environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of enterprise & cloud architectures

  • Expertise in APT threats, TTPs, and threat actor landscapes

  • Experience with tools like Metasploit, Burp Suite

  • Certifications: OSCP, GPEN, CEH, CPT, CEPT

  • Telecom domain experience

Emerging Tech / AI Advantage

  • Exposure to AI/ML in cybersecurity (threat detection, analytics)

  • Experience with AI-driven security tools (e.g., Copilot for Security, Darktrace)

  • Understanding of:

    • LLM safety & AI governance

    • Adversarial ML risks & mitigation

  • Interest in GenAI-enabled security operations (automation, triage, reporting)

  • Flexibility: Collaboration across US time zones as required
